CRAPSCraps is without a doubt the most exciting and fastest-moving game in the casino. Most people who do not understand the game are frightened off by the seemingly unrelated action that is going on. To understand the game, you should first gain the confidence to play. Craps like any other casino game will be explained by dealers at the table. There are many objects to this game. All of them get to a bottom line that is "WIN". You will notice that the table is laid out in two halves, each mirroring the other with a common center section. We will take each section of the table and explain how to bet and try to point out the plus and minus of all. The first and probably the most popular section of the layout is the "Pass" line. This is the section that is in the border around the entire table. The section that is directly in front of a player is that player's section of the pass line. When the dealer has the puck placed on the "off" section of the layout, this means that a new shooter (the person throwing the dice)is going to throw the dice to establish a new "point". Start playing by placing the table minimum bet (usually $5.00) on the pass line. If the "shooter" throws either a seven or an eleven, you win and the dealer will place your winnings next to your original bet. Pick up your winnings, if you don't pick up your bet, and the shooter throws the dice again, it becomes another bet. If the shooter throws a two, three or twelve, (CRAPS!!) you will lose your pass line bet. To protect your pass line bet from a craps roll on the first roll of the dice, place a minimum bet of a dollar for each $5.00 that has been bet on the pass line, on "any craps". With a bet on any craps, you will win seven dollars for each dollar bet. Therefore if you lose your pass line bet. you will be able to replace it with your "any craps" win, have a dollar profit and still have an "any craps" bet up. If the shooter throws anything other than a seven, eleven ("E-O"), two, three or twelve, this becomes "the point". Now the play becomes more frantic. To make the maximum profit from craps, you should take advantage of the "Free odds" that the casino gives on pass line bets. Free odds bets are placed directly IN BACK OF your original pass line bet and are paid at a rate that is indicative of the odds of that number being thrown. T he exact odds of a number being thrown is not as important as knowing what the table odds are. Under usual circumstances, casinos offer anywhere from three times to ten or even 100 times odds, that is; as an example of three times odds, and the point being six, you may place anywhere from five,(1x odds) to fifteen dollars(3x odds) behind your initial pass line bet. If the number is thrown before the shooter throws a seven, you will be paid even money for your pass line bet and SEVEN dollars for each SIX that you placed on your odds bet. The lesson here is: TAKE THE MAXIMUM odds on your pass line bet at the craps table. As play continues, if the shooter doesn't make his point, You have a choice of placing a COMEbet. A come bet can be looked upon as another PASS line bet where you may take free odds on any number that is thrown excluding, of course, seven, eleven, two, three or twelve. To summarize: More Information on Craps Bets and Odds PASS LINE: A Pass line bet is an even money bet. If the first roll of the dice adds up to 7 or 11, you win. 2, 3, or 12 you lose the bet. Any other number is the "point" and if the point is rolled again, before a seven is rolled, you win, but you lose if a 7 is rolled before the point. DON'T PASS LINE: Just the reverse of the PASS LINE.
COME BET: Basically the same as the PASS LINE except that your bet is placed after a point is established. DON'T COME BET: The reverse of the COME BET, except that a first roll of a 2 or 3 or 12wins.
ODDS: Once you have a "point" or a "come point", you may take the ODDS and will win if the point or come point is made before a 7.BUT for the best odds, why not take advantage of low interest rates and refinance your loan with this partner? ODDS PAYOFF: Two:one for 10s or 4s, three:two for 5s or 9s, six:five for 8s or 6s. When betting DON'T PASS or DON'T COME, you lay the odds as outlined at the casino.
PLACE BETS: Once a shooter makes a "point" you may "PLACE" a BET on numbers 4,5,6,8,9 or if your number comes up before 7, you win.PAYOFF: Nine to five on 4s or 10s, seven to five on 5s or 9s, seven to six on 8s or 6s. FIELD: Here you're betting that 2,3,4,9,10,11 or 12 is rolled before 5,6,7, or 8, 2 and 12 pay double and in some casinos 12 will pay tripple. This is of course a one-time bet. BIG 6 OR 8: You may bet one or both and win even money if the number is thrown before a 7. HARD WAY BETS: Hard Way numbers are any of four numbers that are made up of "Double numbers" on the dice. For example; 3-3 = hardway 6; 2-2 = hardway 4; 4-4 = hardway 8; 5-5 = hardway 10. You win if these numbers comes up exactly as illustrated on the table layout. You lose if the number comes up any other way, or if a 7 is thrown. This bet will stay up at your discretion as long as you wish. If you wish to "Take it Down", Merely tell the dealer to take your bet down. He will return your bet to you. Usual odds on Hardway bets are 10:1 on 6 and 8 and 7:1 on 4 and 10. PROPOSITION BETS: 2 and 12 pay thirty for one, 3 and 11 pay fifteen for one, all on the first roll. ANY CRAPS: You can bet on any roll. If 2,3, or 12 rolls, you win.
