STOCKS in the NEWS

HELLO, Christmas 2007 is now history and we are Here to update our stocks.
Before
we became residents of Las Vegas, we realized that one SURE way to win
in Las Vegas was to invest in the right casino at the right time. That was
more than 25 years ago. About Twenty years ago we produced a print newsletter
for a small select audience. Then after moving to Las Vegas in 1996, we
opened this web site.
We
have resumed updating all stock price information on a weekly basis, every Friday at
market close with our website being updated by Monday Morning.
Our investment philosophy is 85 percent purely technical and 15 percent based on info that we gather here in Las Vegas. On the technical end of things we adhere rather stringently to following trends and averages. As has been stated many times The Trend is your Friend . We usually follow the closing price and look for either crossing the 20 or 50 day averages. If we are looking to buy we look for the price to go ABOVE both of these averages. If we own an issue we watch for the close to go BELOW either of the averages. If it is a strong issue we will watch closely and sell if it crosses the 50 day. Weaker issues we will sell if it crosses the 20 day mark. There really is more to it Than just observing averages, but space is limited here and we will be discussing buy and sell stops in our newsletter beginning January 15, 2008. We also look for new issues and who is behind it. We ALWAYS buy KIRKORIAN, WYNN and ADDLESON stocks. Usually as IPO If given the opportunity. WE would NEVER buy TRUMP stuff. That is a BRIEF tutorial on how we trade and decide to buy stocks. All that PLUS reading volumes of releases and attending conferences and calls from the companies. Living here in Las Vegas helps tremendously. We are in the heart of all of the action.
Once again as in past years, We prove that compared to The Dow, Investing in Gaming Stocks is NO GAMBLE
Take a look at this snapshot of percentage change this year of the DOW v.s. The LAS VEGAS GAMBLER index of stocks.
GAMBLER vs. DOW Our update this week shows The Gambler's index is UP once again when comparred to the DOW
Again, Not much news this week, But there is this - Harrah's Entertainment, Inc., (NYSE:HET) on Christmas Eve that the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) notified Harrah's that it will allow the consummation of the proposed acquisition of Harrah's by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, L.P. and TPG Capital to proceed while the NIGC finalizes its review. There are no remaining regulatory approvals needed to close the transaction.
The transaction is expected to close in early 2008 and therewill be no more reports of HET in our index. We will be romoving PGIC and HET during January and replacing them with others to be announced.
Bally hs announced their third quarter earnings and our old favorite is looking good. If you want to see how your stock's graph should look just take a peek at BYI in our left pane. We hhave been in and out of this stock for many years and it is off and running once again.
Any SLINGO fans out there? Slingo, Inc., a leading developer and publisher of casual games and interactive entertainment, has achieved the largest casino install in the United States for the Triple Slingo Jackpot Slot Machine.
This major installation was placed in Harrah's Chester Casino and Racetrack in Chester, Pennsylvania. Harrah's Chester Casino has placed 24 Triple Slingo Jackpot machines in a special dedicated Slingo game theme area, featuring five cent nickel machines and nine linked progressive jackpot machines.
