WELCOME TO MY NEIGHBORHOOD Here's another installment on Barbara's Page. Hi you guys! Here is a story I wrote a few months ago. I hope you enjoy reading it. Montana Jones lived in Bane Montana, a town of approximately 400 people. She always wore black and carried a black parasol. She owned and operated the "Gentlemen's House" . The outside and foyer of the establishment was discretely done. As you entered you saw a tastefully done bar and a few tables and chairs. You also saw a beautiful winding staircase that led to a place that was never mentioned, at least not in polite society. The women of Bane tolerated Montana, the men however, spent considerable time acting as if she was invisible. Montana gave birth to a daughter who was now in college. This child was born out of an affair she had with a married man. When she found out that he was married, she and the child moved to Bane. She started her business and became very successful. However, she never had another emotional involvement with a man. As a matter of fact, she didn't have any relationships at all. She sent Mercy to a private school, therefore she didn't have to get personally involved with any school activities. All they really cared about was that the check arrived on time every month. Mercy knew one thing for certain, she wanted no involvement with her mother's business. Having said that let me assure you she loved her mother with all of her heart. Life went on. Montana running her business and Mercy now in pre-law school. Her heart had been set on being a lawyer since eighth grade. Quite an astounding choice for a young woman in the 1850's, she was a strong intelligent woman as was her mother. As Mercy prepared to graduate from law school she decided to open a small practice in Appleton Montana. She graduated with honors and started to look for office space. She looked at several places, when she arrived home, she found a telegram waiting for her. Alas, Montana was dead. She suffered a heart attack and died while sitting in her favorite chair at the bar. Mercy went home to take care of burying her mother and take care of her mother's affairs. All the people of the town were wondering what was going to happen. The women were glad that at last this blight on society would be gone. They would stand across the street from the establishment telling each other how happy they were that this nightmare was over. But dear friends as if to prove once again that we never ever really know what will happen, the door of "The Gentlemen's House opened and out walked a lovely young woman dressed in black carrying a parasol……………. This is a new page in our website here at The Las Vegas Gambler. We will be discussing events and happenings that will acquaint you with The Las Vegas Experience and hopefully add to the enjoyment of your trip. Our first offering on my page is as follows: Be sure to bring two things with you when you come to Las Vegas
MONEY: Bring money, only if you want a place to sleep, eat and "heaven forbid", GAMBLE!! GOOD ATTITUDE: I have found that if you leave your problems at home and smile, joke around with the help, treat people with respect - You will receive the same back from them...Well at least 99% of the time. Point of interest: They will be imploding the Desert Inn soon. D.I memorabilia is selling faster than a day after Christmas sale. There are two schools of thought on the implosion;
TAKE YOUR CHOICE The CEO of Park Place Entertainment Arthur Goldberg died on October 19, 2000. He was only 58. Park Place is the largest gaming company in the world and owned among others, The Flamingo, Hilton, and Caesars, The El Rancho was imploded a couple of weeks ago. Things like this make my blood run cold, but what do I know? People are moving here in droves. New homes being built 24/7 consequently, more traffic - But alas a price is to be paid for everything. Thank you for visiting Barbara's page at The Las Vegas Gambler's site. Please come back and visit again! We change our content frequently so check back often to see what is new Click here to
